Release Day!

My Fake Boyfriend is Better Than Yours hits bookstores today!! Yay!!!

What are my big huge plans for release day you wonder? Um, not much. Oh no, it's second baby syndrome! When my first book came out I partied all day! And now? Well, I'm so thrilled that it came out but I have a Mommy list a mile long to do today. Starting with weeping in the school parking lot because my baby girl started kindergarten. Oh wow, was that hard. But dang she looked adorable in her school uniform. Tomorrow she'll take the bus for the first time and I will of course follow the bus in my car. How long do you think I'll keep this up? Hmm. But back to the book. Yay, my sweet fun book is in stores! I will need to plan a visit to a Barnes and Nobles and take pics! And sign stock! And round out the day with my kettlebell class tonight. Ok seriously, my release day sounds kind of lame. Last year it was a spa day, with lunch out and cake. But that's all right, I love this second book just as much as the first! And tomorrow I will post the winner of the fake boyfriend so check back!

and an endearing note from lover boy. The flowers can be shipped from the florist to your home or, if you want to make your friends insanely jealous of your new boyfriend, to your school or work. Here's what you've got to do to enter:

1) Change your profile pic in your blog, twitter, or facebook, to my book cover for one week (use image at the bottom of this post, sized for profile pics). That's from any time this Tuesday, August 24th through midnight of the book's release on Tuesday August 31st.

2) Comment on THIS post and let me know where you changed your profile pic. You will get one entry for each place that you changed your profile pic. So if you change it on twitter, facebook, and your blog you will get three entries (max of three entries for the contest).

3) Check back here on Wednesday, September 1st to see if you won!

Seeing the first finished new book is SO EXCITING!! It never gets old. It's just like holding your baby in your arms for the first time. Ok, I'm lying-- it's slightly less exciting than that. But isn't it so cute?





















And I LOVE the inside flaps and I love how they show a picture of my first baby, I mean book, on the flap too.




















And I really love the back! It looks like the back of a package for a fake boyfriend! The art department at FSG is so freakin' creative!

Goings On

Sorry I've been a little quiet! I'm busily getting ready for the launch of My Fake Boyfriend is Better Than Yours next month! I've been filling out lots of interviews, setting up events, and ordering cute stuff like this:




















And my new Web site went live last week. I loooooooove it! Couldn't be more thrilled! I gushed about it on Author2Author this week (and included details on who designed it in case you're interested!). BTW, if ever I'm quiet over here I'm at Author2Author every Thursday!

Anyway, I'm really getting excited for this release! Reviews have been coming in and so far all have been good! Yay! That's always a worry. I mean, these books always sound great in my head but then I've got to hope the rest of the teen reading world agrees with me!

My first signing is going to me 9/11/10 at the Borders in Bolingbrook, IL. I love this Borders! They've always been so great to me so I'm thrilled to sign there first! I'll be there from 4-6p.m., yapping and reading from the book so please come if you're in the area! Address is here.
